Upon the Twelfth Hour is an in-fiction play written by Sova Amalie. It follows a set of 12 characters all based on the aspect holders. Each character is supposed to be played by the aspect-holder corresponding to them.

Plot

Act 1, Scene 1

The Songbird and The Entertainer walk on a pier towards the Angel's-Tears, a luxury yacht owned by The Nobleman. An olive aura surrounds the ship, generated by The Enlightened to protect it from the monsters of the Depths. The Forthright helps Songbird and Entertainer board the yacht, and they pass by The Stranger as they enter the lounge and begin conversation. The Nobleman greets the guests in a creepy way.

Act 1, Scene 2

The Songbird has insomnia and imagines herself performing poorly.

Act 1, Scene 3

The Songbird prepares for her performance, and she peeks through the curtain to see The Enlightened in the crowd. She rushes over to talk with The Enlightened, and they converse until The Enlightened prophesies that this is the last time they will speak. The Entertainer interrupts to tell the Songbird to get ready, and she does that. The amphitheater is full, including all of the named cast except for The Nobleman, The Stranger, and The Entertainer. Her performance is flawless, and the lights go out at the end.

Act 1, Scene 4

The lights come back on to reveal The Enlightened's bleeding corpse hanging from the rafters, and the room bursts into chaos. The Practitioner asks The Forthright to bring a ladder, but he is stopped by The Watcher. The Stranger alleges that The Nobleman was the one responsible for the killing, and that he has done this before. The olive shield is gone, but the monsters of the Depths appear to be frozen in time. To avoid conflict, The Practitioner suggests everyone stays moving in triplets. The Songbird, The Entertainer, and The Pundit prepare to take the body down. The Songbird feels like she is forgetting something and finally wonders where the bartender is.

Trivia

  • It might be a nod to the ancestors' (of the beta trolls) sequence of the webcomic or Homestuck. The script has features similar to the sequence, and each character is called a title rather than their real name.
