An '''ancestor''', in troll biology, is an individual troll who one shares a direct genetic makeup with. At any point in a troll's life, they may have their DNA collected to later be cloned, a process referred to as "'''re-duplication'''." These genetic clones are referred to as '''descendants'''. It is exceedingly rare for a troll to know their ancestor given the extended gap of time between the initial collection and cloning.
